Penina Hotel & Golf Resort is the origin of Portuguese golf. This resort offers three golf courses in one space, one of which being the first 18-hole course built in the Algarve. Considered a legendary and the most challenging golf course in the world, Penina Golf already hosted the Portugal Open for a dozen times.
Unlike most of the golf courses along the Algarve, the Penina Golf has flat architecture, which initially been a rice paddy. Penina Golf scenic mark is planted trees along the course. Penina is a Par 73 (35 + 38) that is flanked by streams, water hazards and precarious ditches.
