Armação de Pêra

Years ago, Armação de Pêra consisted of cabins for local fishermen’s boats. Today, the village is made up of tourist apartments, with various bars and restaurants along the streets.

During summer, it draws many holidaymakers, but it becomes a very peaceful tourist destination in the remaining months. The city’s popularity is due to its magnificent beach, one of the largest and most beautiful in the Algarve, Praia Grande. Several restaurants offer fresh and excellent quality fish and seafood in the eastern part of the urbanized area along the coast.

Fortunately, the entire surrounding area is protected by new construction laws. The rural villages near Armação de Pêra evoke the typical tranquillity of the Algarve, with the presence of fishermen and people connected to the sea.
